Flying Zombie

As I type this, it’s 8 am in the morning. This is my first business trip for this job, and I am already beat. I’ve been up since 2:30 if you don’t count the hour of sleep I was able to get between 3:30, when I finally fell asleep, and 4:30 when my alarm went off.

For once, the TSA didn’t flag me. So apparently traveling without kids, solo, and not getting pulled aside really speeds up the process.

I did see one TSA agent confront a passenger because he was waiting on the other TSA agent who pulled him aside for ‘additional screening.’ I felt for the guy. He had that look of ‘OF COURSE I WAS’ defeat that I do whenever I get pulled. (He brown.) Then a middle aged white couple bemoaned loudly how over-regulated the security lines are these days, even though they passed through without comment. It sure is, sir. It sure is.

This is going to ramble a bit, because I’m so tired. But, the Wi-Fi is also flakey and I’ve never realized how unnerving it is to hear a co-pilot announcement try to calmly explain how the Captain is trying to bounce the system.

Like, I know once the plane is in the air, that it’s probably fine. But my sleepy brain still went, ‘Ha, ha, whaaa…’

Now, I have a plane change in Dallas/Fort Worth with enough time to get some lunch then board. So! Let’s see how this goes.
